About the Author – Day 1

Imagine the front sleeve of a hard cover novel. Give us your “About the Author” so we can get to know one another, and for fun tell us what your imaginary novel would be about.

Marianne to most. Mare to those who are close to her. She is a social worker and loves to counsel those with wounded hearts. She is a daughter, a godmother, an aunt to six of the most beautiful blessings. Though she is an only child, she considers many to be her siblings. Born in the Philippines and raised in Houston, Texas. She loves the color yellow, hugs, speaking in British accents, watching sunrises and sunsets, beaches, her Nikon, and receiving snail-mail. Her truest identity lies in Jesus Christ and the source of her joy is in Him and Him alone. She loves to travel and has set foot on 5 out of 7 continents. Her heart’s desire is to serve the Lord all the days of her life.

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 3:14

My novel will be a story of a girl. How the Lord called her and saved her. Though she was not worthy; though she lived a life that broke His heart; though she continuously pretended his existence was not real; though she lived a life with the delusion that she had control. How the Lord passionately carried her as she walked through the fire, in the hands of the ultimate Refiner. It will be a story of surrender and faith. And it will be the greatest love story this girl will ever experience.

I love your about me! I feel like we would be friends. 🙂 How cool that you are a social worker. God bless you for that. I’m a teacher, so I feel like we are kindred spirits.
